A&O Shearman’s London HQ move is a workplace update, not a hiring signal

A&O Shearman says it is relocating from One Bishops Square to 2 Broadgate this month. The 360,000 sq ft, eight-floor move is an existing-headquarters workplace and sustainability update—not a new office or headcount announcement.

13 October 2026London, United Kingdomfirm announcement

A&O Shearman says it is relocating its London office from One Bishops Square to 2 Broadgate this month, with the move expected to complete by the end of October. The firm says it will occupy approximately **360,000 sq ft** across **eight floors** beside Liverpool Street station.

The firm describes flexible team neighbourhoods, shared spaces, collaboration zones, focus rooms, wellbeing facilities and a sustainability-led fit-out. It says around 1,500 items of furniture will be reused and expects annual London office carbon emissions to fall by around 90%. Legal Cheek separately reported the relocation early on 13 October.

A&O Shearman describes London as its largest office, with more than 1,800 lawyers and business professionals including nearly 200 partners. That is an existing-workforce description, not a new headcount target. This story is a legal-business and workplace update: the move is not a new office opening, recruitment announcement or evidence of growth in hiring.
