Always free

LexLadder is completely free for candidates. We are prohibited by law from charging you for work-finding services. All fees are paid by hiring firms.

Your consent, your control

Your CV and profile are only shared with a specific firm for a specific role — with your explicit consent each time. No spec-sending. No mass distribution.

Human review, always

Lex handles initial sourcing and screening, but a qualified LexLadder consultant reviews every shortlist before your profile is shared with any firm.

Opt out any time

You can withdraw consent from any communication channel — email, WhatsApp, SMS — at any time. Reply STOP to any message or email [email protected].

Service cost to you

Free — always

LexLadder is prohibited by law from charging candidates for work-finding services (Employment Agencies Act 1973, Regulation 5).

Profile sharing

Explicit consent required

Your CV and profile are only shared with a named firm for a named role, with your prior consent. Separate consent is required for each role.

AI & human review

SEAL process

Lex conducts initial screening. A LexLadder consultant reviews and approves every shortlist before your profile is released. No automated-only decisions.

Communication channels

Email, WhatsApp, SMS, voice

You consent to contact on these channels on registration. You can opt out of any channel at any time by replying STOP or emailing [email protected].

Stealth mode

Available in your account

Prevents your profile being surfaced to your current employer or any firm you designate. Activated from your candidate dashboard.

Do-not-approach list

Honoured without question

You can instruct us in writing at any time to exclude specific firms from receiving your profile. We will action this immediately.

Data retention

24 months post-last interaction

We retain your data while your account is active and for up to 24 months after your last meaningful interaction, then delete or anonymise it.

Account closure

Any time, no notice required

Close your account via the platform or by emailing [email protected]. Data deleted or anonymised within 30 days.

Governing law

England & Wales

These terms are governed by English law. You may also bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the UK or Ireland where you are domiciled.

UK GDPR rights

You have the following rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation. Exercise any of them by emailing [email protected].

Access

Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.

Correction

Ask us to correct any inaccurate or incomplete data.

Deletion

Request deletion of your data at any time.

Portability

Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

Restriction

Ask us to restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances.

Objection

Object to processing based on legitimate interests.

Withdraw consent

Withdraw consent for marketing or profile sharing at any time.

Complain

Lodge a complaint with the ICO at ico.org.uk.
